The wine is a deep ruby color. Tears on the wall of the glass draw interesting shapes and testify to the rich content. The aroma is quite intense and offers aromas of ripe dark red fruits, ripe cherries, fine spices due to ripening in the wood.
The tannins are velvety, the taste is very elegant and the wine is clean, dense and long lasting. After a sip, the aroma is preserved for a long time and disappears in pleasant taste sensations. Heated warm raspberries, the smell of fresh plum wrap from the oven, the addition of tender vanilla and ever stronger prunes impress. Despite its large body, this Merlot has all the elements of nobility reflected in the harmony of flavours, aromas and appropriate appearance.
Batič Merlot pairs perfectly with aromatic dishes, based on red-meat. The wine nicely complements dishes based on aromatic mushrooms as well as ripe cheese, blue cheese. Due to Merlot’s rich structure, this wine can be complemented with as little as a nice slice of homemade prosciutto. To serve at 18 - 20° C.
