Orange Wine Kabaj Luisa 2014.
The winegrower: The Kabaj Morel Family.
Region: Goriška brda, Slovenia.
Alc.: 13% vol.
Volume: 750 ml.
Grape variety: Sauvignon Vert, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Malvasia, Rebula.
Maceration takes place for 30 days in contact with the skins in a stainless steel container. Gentle compression with a pneumatic press. Maturation 24 months in oak barrels and additional 6 months in the bottles.
Ageing potential: 2016 - 2022.
The color is deeper amber. The scents are ripe, honey, it smells a bit of burnt, flowers, butter. In the mouth, the wine is dry, stronger, the structure is still abundant, the fruity character has faded a bit, but it is still here. Fairly warm, fully matured wine that should be drunk slowly.
Due to its robust taste and flavour, orange wine goes well with intense, fat and spicy foods. Try it with grilled salmon or lamb. To serve at 14 - 15° C.
